Hi Frank,
All's well that ends well.
I have temporary changed my https protocol into http and your extention works like a charm in INternet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome.
So the secured http was the problem.
Now i only have to puzzel with the settings of my NAS and firewall and the problem is solved.
Thanks for the support and cooperation. Now i know for sure that i'm going to use your plugin to register my tracking and hiking.
Greetings,
Jan

Hi Frank,
I've allready checked the example on your site and it works fine under chrome. So that is proven technology. I do believe your right that the problem lays within my NAS server.
Again thanks for your support. I don'nt think you van do more than you have done.
Greetings,
Jan

Hi Frank,
So if i understand you correctly you see a blue map in your Chrome browser? That's funny because i even don't see a blue map. Strange isn't it?
Unfortunatly i don't have the opportunity to move this page to a "real" site, so there is has to stop for me. The only thing i can try is to change my joomla server from https to http. Perhaps that wil work. Otherwise i have to live with the fact that ik must use firfox of internet explorer.
I'm still planning on using your extention because in the other browsers it works allright.
Do you have an example site were i can view with Chrome?

Hi Jan,
some background: The plugin opens the gpx *file* locally on the server to extract the track infos and get the data for the elevation diagram. That part is obviously working, otherwise you wouldn't see the diagram.
Then the OpenLayers API opens the gpx track *via it's URL* to display it on the map, and also to center the map. That part is going wrong on your NAS somehow.
When you see a blue map, the map is actually there, but it's centered at N=0/E=0 coordinates. If you zoom out a couple of times, you'll see the African coast appearing, and from there on you can scroll over to the island where your track was recorded (i can also see the waypoints there).
So the problem is the access to the gpx via URL, and as said i suspect that has to do with https and your NAS.
Can you test the setup on a "real" webserver?
(i may be wrong, but i don't think the problem you see is really caused by the plugin...)
cheers, Frank

Hello Frank,
Still no progress.
I've done what you asked. I've installed the beta2 version made it active but there was no difference. I removed all the spaces in the gpx name but that didn't help. I even removed all the waypoints in the gpx file (with MapSource) but still i don't see the track in Chrome. I do see the altitude picture displayed.
The only thing i'm not sure of is whether the install procedure of the gpx extension has gone allright.
I'm not very experienced with Joomla 2.9 and i only know the procedure how to install an extension, and not how to uninstall one. So after the install of the beta version i couldn't see or the install went allright. So i assume i work with the beta version now but i'm not 100% sure.
Nevertheless i'm gratefull for your support so far.
Greetings,
Jan

Hello Jan,
First of all: the gpx file is fine, it shows here just like it should.
Secondly, there is indeed a bug in the plugin in how the waypoints code is assembled - there's a "," to much in there. Strangely only IE seems to choke on that (so that's dependant on how strict the browser parses JavaScript). Can you try again with the attached version?
Next, i suspect some problems because you have blanks (spaces) in the gpx file name. Can you try to rename it so there's no blanks in there? (i added some code in the attached version that should help fix this, but just to be sure please remove those blanks.)
Last, i get some errors regarding the "Same Origin Policy", that may come from https and your Synology - it may be that on a "real", normal webserver it would work just fine... as said, the track shows here ok.
hth & cheers, Frank
