Hi Marty,
sorry you're having so much trouble there... what i can see when i compare the sources is that the BASE tag in the html header is different (see attached screenshot). Seems that IOS handles this differently then other browsers/OS's.
The issue seems to be causing some trouble for others, too - google for "joomla base tag head" or similar and you'll see what i mean. I don't have a solution at hand, but maybe the <base> hint will point you to something that helps...
Good luck! - cheers, Frank

A little more info: I have three domains aliased to the main domain hosting site. ALL of the aliased domains exhibit the problem. The main domain (dupontforesttrails.com) only works correctly if the www. is not used.
I will change from aliasing to domain forwarding for the other domain names but I still have the www. problem.

I finally got a handle on what is going on.
The problem relates to only ONE THING: Whether there is a WWW. in front of the domain name!!!!
dupontforesttrails.com/trails/trails-11-20/14-cart-trail works fine.
www.dupontforesttrails.com/trails/trails-11-20/14-cart-trail has the missing track problem.
This caused me a huge amount of grief and I only found it by hours of effort.
Can anyone explain how this could have such a profound effect? More importantly, is there a fix for this? My users may type in the www. if they manually enter the website address.

Things are getting strange again.
About the only change I have made recently to my Joomla installation was a switch to JCE for my editor. This was last night before the display issues came up and I've been checking the site constantly as I was adding content all morning. The problem started early this afternoon.
Anyway, I tried adding a very simple article with TinyMCE consisting of the {gpxtrackmap}mygpxtrackfile.gpx{/gpxtrackmap} parameter and nothing else. I added a menu entry and tested. (12-Camp Summit Road under trails on dsrftrails.com). I did not change anything else, just the new article and menu entry.
It worked fine for the new article. I then checked the other pages that until that time consistently exhibited the no-track-data, wrong start coordinate problem. They all seem to be working now. Tracks show fine. Map centers on the correct coordinates instead of 0 0. Checked out Chrome and Firefox, two different compters. Fine so far.
Then I checked IOS (iPhone and iPad). Same old problem with no track, map centered on 0N 0E. Waypoints are showing.
Some serious head banging against wall time in in order........

Making progress on the display issue.
Now it is affecting all browsers and I think I see what is going on. The 'blue' map is actually ocean because the coordinate being displayed is 0'N by 0'E. Waypoints are where they belong if you zoom all the way out and move over to North America. The track is completely missing.
For some reason the system is not processing the trackpoint in the gpx file.
I will run some more tests and post results later.

A little more info on the IOS display problem:
The Elevation chart displays fine (not all trail gpx files have elevation info, check 2-Barn Trail for an example with elevation data.
IOS was displaying the maps fine up until yesterday when the maps started displaying as a field of light blue with just the zoom buttons visible.
It appears that you can scroll around and zoom in and out on the blue field, just no actual map appears.
