Things have been going very well since your suggestion to use the first tab position.
I went live with the site and am busy uploading content but I noticed that yesterday the map display stopped working only on IOS browsers (both Safari and Chrome running on IOS 6.1).
The website is dupontforesttrails.com. If you have time, please take a look and see if you can determine why only IOS is affected. On Windows 8, Windows 7 and Windows XP using IE, Firefox, and Chrome everything works great.
Thanks,
Marty

I can confirm that the tabs do work ONLY if you specify the GPXTrackMap in the first tab. All other positions are fouled up.
I checked a couple of browsers and it is consistent.
This work-around will work for my immediate needs.
Thanks again for your great support. If you do manage to find a way to get this working in other tab positions, please email me.

Hi again,
just discovered something really weird:
1) if the maps get shifted seems to be random, it's not (directly) related to the tab number they're on.
2) if i have a "shifted" map and then change the browser's zoom level (ctrl-mousewheel or ctrl+/ctrl- in Chrome or Firefox) the map is drawn correctly! After this "forced repaint" all zooming and panning keeps working fine, UNTIL you switch to another tab.
i'm afraid there is not much i could fix here in the plugin ... except saying "don't use track maps on tabs"
(very unsatisfying, i know, but i'm running out of ideas - anyone else has any???)
Sorry! - cheers, Frank

Hi Marty,
i can confirm this with Chrome also. I set up a page with 3 pagebreaks and style=tabs, and a TrackMap on each page 2..4.
What i found is that the map on the first tab shows just fine(!). The one on the 2nd tab shows the map shifted to the left while the one on the 3rd is shifted even more left - i first thought it correlates with the width of the tabs, but it doesn't.
I've been fiddling with the CSS for quite a while now, but honestly i can't tell what's causing this...
Could you try to put the map on the first tab and see if this works?
cheers, Frank

UPDATE.
In a effort to get this working consistently between browsers and to get the TABS version working at all, I ditched the other plugin and went to plain vanilla Joomla pagebreaks functionality.
I also switched to the Beez5 template to eliminate any strange template related issuse.
The GPXTrackMap seems to work fine with pagebreak / sliders set but it refuses to work on any browser if pagebreak / tabs is set. What happens is the map displays smashed up in the left side of the tab box and moving and zooming is really inconsistent. Any effort to zoom or move will lose the track and waypoints too.
The tabs option will really work best for this application in my website and I'd love to be able to use it if you could take a look.
I am attaching code samples. I set the content-pagebreak plug-in presentation style to tabs.
Thanks again,
Marty

Hi Marty,
i'd rather say "strange things were happening yesterday" - today it works as expected
There's nothing wrong with your code as far as i can see. The slider plugin can indeed cause trouble, some plugins i know do pretty "brutal" CSS tricks to achieve the sliding effect...
Anyway, good to know it works now - thanks!
